Question 1

Which UK supermarkets does MyGroceryPal compare?

Accepted Answer

We track daily prices at Tesco, Sainsbury's, ASDA, Aldi, Morrisons, Co-op, Waitrose, Iceland, B&M, Boots, Superdrug, Savers and Ocado (including M&S), and we’re adding more.

Question 2

Can I compare M&S prices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. M&S Food is sold through Ocado, so thousands of M&S products show Ocado’s price next to every other supermarket. Search “M&S” to see them.

Question 3

Can MyGroceryPal tell me where my whole basket is cheapest?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Put your items in a basket and we price every line of it at all 13 stores we track, then name the store that wins on the total, suggesting a swap where a store does not stock something. If splitting the shop across two or three stores beats any single store, we show you that plan and exactly what it saves. Available on iOS, Android and the web.

Question 4

Is MyGroceryPal free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on the web, in the app and in the Chrome extension. A small number of ads may appear in the app and on the website. MyGroceryPal Pro is an optional subscription, £0.99 a month or £7.99 a year, that removes the ads and lifts the free plan's limits of 10 brand and keyword alerts and 3 target prices. We also earn a small commission if you buy after clicking through to a store, which costs you nothing extra.

Question 5

How do brand and keyword price alerts work?

Accepted Answer

Instead of following one product, you follow a brand like “Cadbury” or watch a keyword like “oat milk” across every store we track. Pick how big a drop is worth hearing about, from 5% to 30%, and we check every night and message you when something matching goes on offer. The free plan keeps up to 10 at a time and MyGroceryPal Pro lifts the limit. Alerts work on iOS, Android and the web.

Question 6

What does the MyGroceryPal Chrome extension do?

Accepted Answer

Open any product on Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury's or Morrisons and the toolbar shows what the same product costs at every other supermarket, its price history so you can tell a real drop from a marketing offer, and a badge that lights up when it is cheaper elsewhere. It is free, and nothing is added to the retailer’s page while you browse.

Question 7

How often are grocery prices updated?

Accepted Answer

We capture prices fresh from all 13 stores every day, so a price you see here is today’s, not last week’s.

Question 8

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

No. Browsing deals, comparing prices and viewing price history are all open without signing in. A free account adds saved items, brand and keyword price alerts, your basket synced across devices, and sending a basket to a supermarket.
